Aquascutum

Created in 1851 by a Mayfair tailor named John Emary who opened his first shop in Regent Street, London, Aquascutum soon found its niche. They created the first waterproof wool in 1853 and patented it in the process. From then they have always been associated with protecting finely dressed gentlemen from the outdoor elements, all the while maintaining the style of their tailored roots in clothing. Awarded the royal warrant, the material was even used for soldiers' coats in both world wars and worn by famous names like Winston Churchill, Cary Grant and Michael Caine.
