Who is Gant?

Gant was founded by Bernard Gantmacher in Connecticut as a shirt making company in 1949. The brand has been reinventing the classic Gant shirt since its inception, and more recently branched out into a wider range of clothing.

Credited with sparking the "Oxford Colour Explosion" in the 1950s, Gant added a splash of colour to the mostly white shirts of middle America, driving national desire for a daring new look. In the following decades, Gant became the tailor of choice with students of Ivy League college, Yale and continued to innovate with new fashion ideas. Today, the brand has diversified into sportswear with the famous Gant rugby polo, and modernised their classic look, while keeping vintage Americana in their heart.
